The Frugal Gourmet's Southern Barbecue Sauce

The Woiks Dilly Burgers

I'm a big fan of burgers. I love the way they can be customized to everyone's taste, and I love the way they always taste good, no matter how you make them. But my favorite burger of all is the Woiks Dilly Burger. It's simple to make, but it's always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped dill pickle relish

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 6 hamburger buns

  • Your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, dill pickle relish, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  3. Form the mixture into 6 patties.

  4. Grill or pan-fry the patties until cooked through.

  5. Place the patties on the buns and top with your favorite toppings.

  6. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • For a spicier burger, add a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the ground beef mixture.

  • To make the burgers ahead of time, prepare the burgers up to step 4 and cover them tightly. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When ready to serve, grill or pan-fry the burgers until cooked through.

  • Serve the burgers with your favorite sides, such as french fries, onion rings, or potato salad.
