I've always been a fan of pork chops. They're a classic dish that's easy to make and always delicious. But I've never been a fan of the traditional method of cooking pork chops, which is to sear them on the stovetop and then finish them in the oven. I find that this method can often result in dry and tough pork chops.
A few years ago, I was introduced to a new way of cooking pork chops that I absolutely love. It's called the "wait forever" method, and it's incredibly simple. All you do is season your pork chops with salt, pepper, and any other herbs or spices you like. Then, you place them in a baking dish and pour a generous amount of chicken broth over them. You don't even need to preheat the oven!
Once your pork chops are in the baking dish, you simply cover it with foil and place it in the oven. Then, you wait. That's it! The pork chops will cook slowly in the chicken broth, and they'll be incredibly tender and juicy when they're done.
I know it sounds like a strange way to cook pork chops, but trust me, it works! I've made these pork chops dozens of times, and they've always been a hit with my family and friends. They're especially perfect for a weeknight meal, because they're so easy to make and they don't require a lot of attention.
Here's the recipe for wait forever pork chops:
Ingredients:
4 boneless, pork chops
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup water
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Season pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Place pork chops in a baking dish.
Pour chicken broth and water over pork chops.
Cover baking dish with foil.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until pork chops are cooked through.
Serve immediately.
Tips:
You can use any type of pork chop for this recipe. I like to use boneless, center-cut pork chops, but you can also use bone-in pork chops or thick-cut pork chops.
If you don't have chicken broth, you can use beef broth or vegetable broth.
You can also add other herbs and spices to the pork chops, such as thyme, rosemary, or sage.
If you want to make the pork chops even more flavorful, you can sear them on the stovetop before baking them. To do this, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned.
Serve the pork chops with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
Enjoy!
