Better Cake Mix

Cake mix is a convenient way to make a cake, but it can be made even better with a few simple additions. Here are a few tips for making the best cake mix:

  • Use room temperature ingredients. This will help the cake mix to blend evenly and produce a better texture.

  • Add an extra egg. This will make the cake more moist and flavorful.

  • Add sour cream or yogurt. This will add richness and moisture to the cake.

  • Add melted butter. This will add richness and flavor to the cake.

  • Add your favorite flavors. You can add cocoa powder, vanilla extract, or other flavors to the cake mix to make it your own.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box cake mix

  • 1 extra egg

  • 1/2 cup sour cream or yogurt

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Your favorite flavors (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, egg, sour cream or yogurt, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  3. If desired, add your favorite flavors to the batter.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Tips and Tricks:

  • For a richer cake, use whole milk instead of water when making the cake mix.

  • To make a chocolate cake, add 1/2 cup cocoa powder to the batter.

  • To make a marble cake, add 1/2 cup cocoa powder to half of the batter. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, alternating layers of plain and chocolate batter.

  • To make a funfetti cake, add 1/2 cup sprinkles to the batter.
